Haiti

The land of high mountains.

An adventure few will ever experience.

Haiti isn't your typical Caribbean getaway. It's a country of extraordinary landscapes, deep-rooted culture, unforgettable people, and a history that has shaped its identity. It's also a country facing real political and economic challenges. We're not going to pretend otherwise. In fact, understanding the reality of Haiti is part of understanding the country itself.

Over six days, you'll experience a side of the Caribbean that few travelers ever get to see. Discover the colorful streets and vibrant culture of Cap-Haïtien, explore the spectacular Citadelle Laferrière, wander through historic towns, experience local markets, taste Haitian cuisine, and connect with the communities that make this country so special.

This isn't about ticking another destination off your list. It's about stepping outside your comfort zone, challenging what you think you know, and experiencing a country that deserves to be seen beyond the headlines.

And while Haiti demands a different kind of preparation, you won't be figuring it out alone. From local guides, security team and trusted drivers to carefully coordinated transportation and accommodation, our team and local partners handle the logistics so you can focus on the experience.

Haiti is not for everyone. But for those willing to explore beyond the familiar, it could be the trip you never forget.

Before you book

What to know about traveling to Haiti. Haiti is an extraordinary destination, but it comes with challenges that every traveler should understand before booking.

  1. Security & political situation

Haiti is experiencing significant political instability and security challenges. The U.S. Department of State currently maintains a Level 4: Do Not Travel advisory. Please read more on the U.S. Department of State website.

  2. Itinerary flexibility

Security conditions and local circumstances can change quickly. Activities, transportation routes, accommodations, and destinations may need to change at short notice.

  3. Medical facilities

Medical facilities and emergency services are limited. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers Haiti, emergency medical treatment, and medical evacuation.

  4. Travel experience

This is an adventure-focused cultural experience, not a luxury vacation. Flexibility, patience, an open mind, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected are essential.

  5. Personal responsibility

Travelers should follow guidance from trip hosts and local guides, remain with the group when instructed, and exercise awareness of their surroundings throughout the experience.

Our commitment: We coordinate transportation, accommodation, local guides, and group logistics in advance, working with local partners to prioritize everyone's safety. However, no arrangements can eliminate the risks associated with traveling to Haiti.

Please only book if you have read, understood, and are comfortable with these conditions.

Good to know

Is Haiti safe to visit?

Haiti is currently experiencing significant political instability and security challenges. We recognize that visiting comes with risks that differ from those of typical Caribbean destinations. Our trip is organized alongside local partners, with pre-arranged transportation, local guidance, and coordinated group logistics. We take these considerations seriously and encourage every traveler to understand the situation before booking.

Which airport should I fly into?

All travelers must fly into and out of Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP). Our trip begins and ends in Cap-Haïtien, and all group transportation is coordinated around this airport. Do not book flights into Port-au-Prince or any other airport. Please confirm your arrival and departure flights with our team before purchasing your tickets.

What is the accommodation like?

You'll stay in carefully selected accommodation arranged in advance by our team and local partners. We prioritize comfort, location, and practical arrangements throughout the trip. This is an adventure-focused experience rather than a luxury getaway.

Will we have a local guide?

Yes! We'll work with local guides and partners who know the area, its culture, and its communities. They'll help coordinate the experience and provide local insight throughout the trip.

What language is spoken in Haiti?

Haitian Creole and French are the primary languages. English is less commonly spoken, particularly outside tourism settings. Our local partners and guides will help bridge any language barriers throughout the experience.

What should I pack?

Pack light, comfortable clothing, sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent and personal medication. We also recommend keeping valuables and expensive accessories to a minimum.

Do I need a visa?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Check the latest entry requirements with the relevant Haitian authorities before booking your flights. Your passport should also meet the applicable validity requirements.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that specifically covers Haiti, including medical expenses, emergency medical evacuation, and trip interruption. Check exclusions carefully, particularly those relating to government travel advisories.

What makes this trip different?

Haiti offers a perspective on the Caribbean that goes far beyond traditional tourism. From its history and culture to its landscapes and people, this is an opportunity to experience a country that is often misunderstood and rarely explored through conventional group travel.
